Fighting Sanctions with Sanctions

“Iran has halted oil shipments to Britain and France, the Oil Ministry said Sunday, in an apparent pre-emptive blow against the European Union after the bloc imposed sanctions on Iran’s crucial fuel exports.” New York Times

Iran has figured out a good defense is a good offense. The economy of France and Britain are near collapse. This preemptive sanction measure will make the situation worse. And if France’s past is any indication, the high oil prices will push up the cost of everything else in that country, and maybe, just maybe, even create the condition for a future revolution — government overthrow — in that European nation state.

Good political move for Iran.
